Bali

EXPLORING
1. Head to the beach. Best beach spots around Denpensar: Dreamland, Nusa Dua (Geger Beach) and NW Legian.
2. Travel to Ubud and explore the area, enjoying the artistic culture and walking the rice paddies.
3. Normal tourist trail - Uluwatu, Jim baran, Seminyak, Tanah Lot, Bersakih, Ubud, Kintamani - with maybe a detour to Lovina/Singgaraja.
4. Hike Mount Kinamani.

EATING
1. Dinner at Maccaroni, a trendy, yet understated restaurant in Kuta.
2. La Lucciola is a fantastic spot in Seminyak for a meal at anytime of the day in Seminyak, especially so for a lazy brunch or a sunset meal.
3. Head to Ku De Ta for drinks at a trendy outdoor spot in Seminyak.
4. Make your way to Jimbaran Bay for the best seafood on the island, and in a charming more local setting (still very much on the tourist route though, but in a good way).
5. For night life in Kuta, places to consider: - MBarGo, 66 and Bounty.

SLEEPING
1. Villa Bayanaka is a privately owned villa located in Cangu; the owner is Nick, from Kenya.
2. Le Jardin Villa in Seminyak is a great place to stay in Bali, a villa in Seminyak; the villa is one of perhaps a dozen.
3. Lonely Planet lists two agencies that arrange villa rentals Bali Villas and Elite Havens.
4. Sayan Terrace Resort is a a fantastic spot to stay in Ubud, a ~two-hour drive from Denpensar. A more up market option in the same area is the Four Seasons Sayan.
*for prices with hotels/accommodation, you can try to negotiate a lower rate, as this generally is possible

AROUND THE AREA:
1. Gili Islands are slow paced, beautiful islands prohibiting cars and buses; 5-hour boat ride from Bali, or a much shorter ride from Lombok.
2. Lombok has daily flights from Bali (Denpensar); flights to Jakarta might be direct, and if not, connect through Surabaya; ferry ride is 4-hours.
